Radoslav Enchev

Company: The Francis Crick Institute
Job title: Senior group leader
Bio:
Dr. Radoslav Enchev is a molecular biotechnologist and structural biologist with deep expertise in the ubiquitin-proteasome system and advanced cryo-electron microscopy. Originally from Sofia, Bulgaria, he studied Molecular Biotechnology in Heidelberg and conducted early neural circuit modelling research at the Max Planck Institute alongside Nobel Laureate Bert Sakmann. He earned his PhD at the Institute of Cancer Research under Ed Morris, exploring key regulators of protein degradation, and continued postdoctoral work at ETH Zurich in Matthias Peter’s lab, collaborating with leaders like Ray Deshaies and Brenda Schulman. Now leading a group at the Francis Crick Institute, Radoslav is pioneering new methods to enable kinetic and structural characterization of reconstituted biochemical reactions, with broad applications across biomedical research.
